AUB Thrift Fair

Updated: Jun 3, 2023

Today was the AUB Thrift Fair! This was organised by Ed Earl (the creator of Salvage Collective), as a way to raise money for the L6 Graduate Show as well as creating a space for students to buy and sell second-hand clothing. While the students kept the money they made for selling their own clothes, the money made from the Salvage Collective & AUB FBC stands as well as the fee the students had to pay to rent a space, went towards the Graduate Fashion Show.

The started with us preparing the AUB FBC and Salvage Collective stands, as well as welcoming in the students who had rented a space.

The AUB FBC stand!

The fair spanned the distance of two rooms, and as it got busier and busier - outside!

My other role at the fair, other than assist with running the stands, was to take some high-quality images of the fair to use on the Salvage Collective Instagram account to showcase the event. This was my first public event with Salvage Collective and it was a great experience! I really look forward to future events with Salvage Collective.

Overall, the thrift fair was a great success! We raised a good amount of money for the Graduate Show, and the fair was busy all-day long. We plan to potentially do another one of these fairs in the future (there have also been more in the past) due to their popularity among the students and staff alike!
